L.A. architect Neil Denari makes his mark in New York City with his first free standing building, christened the HL23. Located on 23rd Street adjacent to the High Line elevated railway bed, it is shifting the skyline of the west side of Manhattan.

New York Preservation Archive Project-35th Anniversary Celebration of the 1973 Admendments to the NYC Landmarks Law (New York, NY)
On June 10th, NYPAP ( New York Preservation Archive Project) hosted a event celebrating the 1973 Admendments to the NYC Landmarks Law.
It was split into two parts. The first part was a panel discussion held at the Fraunces Tavern Museum located in downtown Manhattan on 45 Pearl Street. With the dialog and interaction between the panelist, the was revelation into the formulation and fruition of the 1973 admendments.
The second part was the the long awaited cocktail party at the Battery Garden Restaurant.
At the Garden all of us that were present that eveing raised our glasses and saluted those that have contributed to the historic preservation cause.

World Science Festival 2008 @ the Metropolitian Museum of Art (New York, NY)
On June 1st, the Metropolitan Museum of Art located on the historic Museum Mile on 5th Avenue and 82nd Street, hosted a symposium entitled "The Science of Art". This event was part of the five day World Science Festival held in New York City.
The purpose of the panel was to explore the complex and intricate relationship between the world of science and the world of art.

The Mint Project (San Francisco, CA)
Current view of restored Mint
The San Francisco Mint, bearing the name "The Granite Lady", located on Fifth and Mission Street, played an important role in the U.S. economy. For sixty-three years, spaning from 1874 to 1937, it housed one third of the nation's capital.
It is one of the five buildings in San Francisco to be designated a National Historic Landmark. It recieved this distinction in 1961, acknowledging its importance as "the last major example of classical revival architecture” in the United States.
By 2011, the mint which is located in the center of the downtown area, will house the following:
-the Museum of San Francisco and the Bay Area
-the American Money Museum
-a proposed new location for the San Francisco Visitors Information Center
-a Museum Store and several dining and retail venues
-rental space for events and cultural festivals

SCOPE NYC 2008 (New York, NY)
International contemporary art made is presence know in New York last week courtesy of SCOPE NYC. This major show that takes place annually in Lincoln Center brought in several exhibitors across the globe. Duly noted were the numerous galleries from Europe especially Germany. Not to be ignored were the New York and California galleries.
